Information

for a relaxed sail-away

Bareboat chartering is the most popular way to sail when you have proper certification, yacht handling skills and adequate experience of sailing, docking and anchoring. When chartering bareboat, you skipper by your self and take full responsibility of the yacht and your entire trip. Even if you are an experienced sailor, you may still require the services of a professional local skipper to make your cruise more relaxing and benefit from the skippers' local knowledge.

Hire a professional skipper if you are non-experienced / beginner sailor or you just want to enjoy the cruise. A professional skipper is responsible for your trip planning, itinerary, safety on board, all sailing related decisions and the yacht. You just need to provide limited help whenever needed, especially when anchoring / docking. Skipper’s daily fee is 190 euro/day and his local knowledge is your key to discover the best places of your sailing area and enjoy a pleasant sailing trip with safety. Professional skipper needs in most cases to be provided with his own cabin, as he is obliged to sleep on board. Our team of experienced professional (English-speaking) skippers, always friendly and kind will take care of all details.

Fully crewed yacht chartering is considered when you also hire a hostess apart of your skipper. Hostess is usually a lady (English-speaking) with sailing skills and is a great help for the skipper. Hostess prepares breakfast, lunch and takes care of cleaning and arrangement of shared spaces, kitchen and toilets but not client’s cabins. Because of limited space and storage on board, cooking can not be complicated. It is common that people hire a hostess to enjoy the comfort of cooking /cleaning services and for providing a useful helping hand during the trip. Hostess daily fee is 140 euro/day and she’s sharing with skipper the provided cabin.

It is necessary for one crewmember (skipper) to have sailing certificate/license proving his competence.

RYA, ASA or ICC bareboat skipper certificates or superior, at the indicated level are all sufficient for bare boat charters in Greece. Other local certificates issued by a "yachting" authority such as sailing clubs, sailing schools, yachting/sailing associations are also acceptable as long as they are clearly stating sailing yacht competence and are in English language

The co-skipper's -little- sailing experience can be declared on a simple declaration form signed on the spot during embarkation time.

All Seas Yachts has the right as by the official charter contract, to ask you to prove your sailing abilities and knowledge by making a small round trip with one of our representatives on board. This test event is considered part of the charter period.

If you do not have proper qualification, a professional skipper could be provided to you to insure your safety and well being, with a standard fee per day.

Even if you are an experienced sailor, you may still require the services of a professional local skipper to make your cruise more relaxing and benefit from the skippers' local knowledge.

Monohull yacht is the classic single hull type of yacht. It can sail more upwind than catamarans and performs better in rough seas. Because of its width it can make it easier in limited space ports.

A catamaran provides better stability, performance at flat seas and sailing without leaning. It is easier to handle and has definitely more space available for people. It becomes more and more popular because people enjoy being comfortable and because of its shallow draft that allows access where monohulls can’t go. Its width (more than 6 meters) sometimes makes it hard to find good space in the busy ports

A detailed demonstration aboard the yacht will be given, covering all functionalities and operating systems. Condition and inventory check will be also carried out in order to properly fill and sign related “inventory list” acceptance statement that justifies the formal, actual and absolute acceptance of the vessel by the charterer. Same list to be used for check-out upon disembarkation.

Charterers should pay special attention to this procedure and make sure they have checked all parts of the yacht and familiarized with proper handling of the entire equipment.

Yacht must be redelivered in the condition in which it was provided at the time of boarding.

Any parts or equipment that might be damaged or missing for whatever reason will be paid from the deposit, any damage in excess of the deposit will be claimed from yacht’s insurance.
